Lorena and Michael met in Washington, DC, in 2020 during the Covid pandemic. Their first two dates were picnics at Malcolm X Park. After Michael brought Japanese food paired with sparkling rosé, Lorena knew she had found the one. They spent the rest of the night trying mezcal cocktails, finding out how much they have in common (including their politics), and started dating. Five years later, they’re best friends, true loves, and partners in life.

After traveling together to many places over the years (several times to México), Michael proposed to Lorena in Paris in November 2024. Now, they’re so excited to get married!
